An illuminated optical view of the Royal Palace in Paris, with the statue of Louis XIII situated in the middle of the square. The windows and light sources of the buildings are perforated (dots and cut outs). At the back of the print we see that the holes are covered with see-through paper. Some of the holes are covered with red, green and blue paint. This gives the illusion of lights when the print is held in front of a light source. The print itself is coloured in very vibrant colours. Note in pencil on the back, identifying the scene as the Louvre. This is not the case. (Parijs)
