Illuminated optical view of the Porte Saint-Honoré. This entrance gate to Paris was built in 1635 and demolished only 97 years later in 1732. On the right the Chapelle de l’Assomption is depicted. The windows of the buildings are perforated. This gives the illusion of lights when the print is held in front of a light source. A typed note in Dutch is pasted onto the back of a cardboard edge. The top corners are strengthened with parchment. (Parijs)
