Gulliver’s Travels, written by Jonathan Swift (1667-1745) is primarily a sharp satire on the English society, science and human morality. It is also a parody of the travel stories of the seventeenth century. It is considered to be Swift’s masterpiece and a classic of English literature. It has also become a popular children’s book, for which the first two parts were processed, and the less decent scenes have been removed. This particular version is translated into Dutch by G. Blom. The illustrations are by Rein van Looy (Reindert Johannes Cornelis, 1910-1994) who became very popular in the Netherlands as the artist behind Pinkeltje. B2342

The cover and his contents are in very good condition. 21 x 28 cm, 1-351 pp. The book contains 8 polychrome and 17 black and white photogravures by Rein van Looy (1910-1994). Each chapter ends with a small black silhouette illustration.
