Modern half-vellum, boards damaged, worn copy. 2°: pi2 A- C4, not paginated. With engraved title and 36 folding plates, mounted on paper in order to be able to see them next to the text. The 5th edition of 6, of which the first was published in 1622, followed by editions in 1625 (2x), 1647, ca. 1660 and ca 1750. The plates are the same in all editions. Among the illustrations a view of the gardens of the Prince of Orange in The Hague, and a landscape dated 1622, probably made by Simon Frisius. Other plates depict rooms, doorways, stairways, linen presses etcetera. In the present copy one, unnumbered plate is added, with the inscription ‘punctum’. B038
