Aschenputtel, von den Brüdern Grimm, Mit 8 mehrfarbigen Bildern von Rie Cramer. Stuttgart, Dieck & Co. , n. d. [1925].

The book contains four polychrome illustrations and four illustrations printed in black only. These last four prints are hand coloured in red by the owner. The strange thing is that this is done according to the later printed edition for the Dutch version (Assepoester), which came on the market about thirteen years later in 1937. Another interesting fact is brought to attention when you put the illustration of Cinderella and the pumpkin next to Edmund Dulac’s illustration of Cinderella and her fairy godmother (Stories from Hans Andersen 1911). There is a striking resemblance in how the scene is depicted. This is a good example of the influence that British illustrators had on Rie Cramer. B2332
