Beschrijving
Bound in leather, large 8°-oblong, with ca 35 inscriptions and some watercolours by E.C. Vorwerck. The owner was a young man, probably from Mühlhausen in Germany, who lived in Stockholm from 1779 until March 1783. In April he then traveled via Norköping, Borahs, Göteborg and Helsingborg to Copenhagen (May 1783), and afterwards he went to Amsterdam by boat (June 1783). Finally he traveled to Mühlhausen via Strassbourg (Septembre 1783). The name of this German traveler remains unknown, although the initials N.W. are at the back cover of the book. Perhaps he is adressed once as ‘Carolus’. His ‘Freund und Bruder’ signs himself as ‘Samuel Gottfried F[…]kel’ (in Breslau) but this might be a brother freemason. Some surnames of the persons that made contributions to the album are: Backhausen, Settelmeyer, Eckhardt, Dettman(s), Weber, Kratzius, Ott, Engelmann, Frembike, Hübner, Mantz, Wasmüht, Moll, Unfraun, Langlet, Singohl, Schirmeister, Borg, Prévot, Pohland, Falkenholm, Valentin, Magnus, Lischgen and Brach.
