Manuscript, dated December 1828, two pages with a handwritten poem by G.V.V. (of Rotterdam?), concerning the Duivekater a Dutch traditional bread for easter or the wintertime (Christmas). Originally from Zaanstreek/De Zaan/Zaandijk. In the poeam advise is given for the storing of the bread. With a historical note about the customs surrounding Duivekater in Zaanstreek (it made a ‘sop’ or bread soup at Christmas). Interesting document.
