Volume 1, 3 and 4 (of 4)
Rotterdam / Utrecht, Hendrik van Pelt (…) / Jan Jacob van Poolsum, 1749-1753, 4to., full leather bindings with goldtooled decoration, ribbed spine, edge decoration in blue and brown. Volume 1: [86]+826+[40]pp., volume 3: [2]+779+[33]pp., volume 4: [6]+370+[48]pp., the bindings are pretty worn with scratched leather along the edges and considerable damage to the spines. The endpapers are ruffled and in volume 3 the front cover and the spine are nearly loose (to a lesser extent, this is also true for volume 2). There are water stains in all volumes and some mold stains (especcially in volume 1). The last page of volume 1 is loose. On the flyleaf of volume 3 there is note in ink: ‘Evert van Korlaar, anno 1809, D 26 DVD 12 Maand’. Each volume has its own titlepage in red and black, volume 1 also has a frontispiece with and engraved portrait of the author (Jac. Folkema sculp. 1748). The text is mosly printed in a Gothic font.
