Haarlem, A. Loosjes Pz., 1814, 8vo., half leather binding with marbled paper, gold tooled spine and marbled endpapers, 8+342+312 pp., the book block is in good condition with here and there some stains, the binding is still attached firmly to the book block, but there is some damage along the edges. The spine is somewhat faded and there is some damage to the front hinge. There is an illustration on the titlepage (R. Vinkeles fecit) depicting a festive household scene. A modern newspaper clipping is inserted in the book discussing the content and context of this historical novel. It states the novel gives the reader a lovely insight in Golden Age life.
