Oval portrait of Pierre Jeannin, looking to the left, and with a hunting scene in the background. Pierre Jeannin (1542-1623) was a French statesman; a surintendant des finances (superintendent of finances).
Etching and engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 153 x 120 mm. Publication of this print is attributed to Balthazar Moncornet, c. 1610-1668.
In good condition, margins cropped to the platemark, attached to carrier by all corners.
The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam recognises two states of this print. This is the second state of two, with the added year in the caption (among other changes).
