Oval portrait of Pierre Jeannin, looking to the left, and with a hunting scene in the background. Pierre Jeannin (1542-1623) was a French statesman; a surintendant des finances (superintendent of finances).
Etching and engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 152 x 120 mm. Publication of this print is attributed to Balthazar Moncornet, c. 1610-1668.
In good condition, margins cropped to the platemark, attached to carrier by all corners. Some discolouration in the corners (from glue). A few scattered small stains.
The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam recognises two states of this print. This is the first state of two.
