A bust-length portrait of Louis-Auguste-Victor, Count de Ghaisnes de Bourmont (1773-1846), French general, diplomat and statesman who was named Marshal of France in 1830.
Etching and stipple engraving on wove paper, sheet size 282 x 203 mm., platemark 175 x 117 mm. Engraved by Nordheim after Julien. Printed and published by the Bibliographischen Institut, Hildburghausen, as part of the series 'Zeitgenossen', published from 1829 to 1840.
Johann Georg Nordheim (Gehaus 1804-1854 Hildburghausen) was a German (reproductive) engraver and steel engraver who produced mainly portraits.
In good condition, the margins quite foxed, a dog-ear in the top left margin corner. The image area mildly foxed, but otherwise clean.
