Bust-length portrait of Rulemann Friedrich Eylert, from the series 'Zeitgenossen'. Eylert (Hamm 1770 – 1852 Potsdam) was a German chanceller and Bishop.
Stipple engraving on wove paper, sheet size 173 x 118 mm. Engraved by Johann Georg Nordheim after life. Printed and published by Bibliographisches Institut, c. 1833 (as this is print 51 from the fourth year of Zeitgenossen, published c. 1829-1840).
Johann Georg Nordheim (Gehaus 1804 – 1854 Hildburghausen) was a German (reproductive) steel engraver, who specialised in portraits.
In good condition, toning and foxing in the margins.
