Oval bust-length portrait, turned to the right, and looking forward, of Stanis³aw II August (born Stanis³aw Antoni Poniatowski; 1732-1798), also known as Stanislaus II Augustus. He was King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1764 to 1795, and the last monarch of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
Engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 245 x 183 mm., platemark 235 x 174 mm. Anonymous engraving, c. 1770.
In good condition, margins cropped close to the platemark. The collection stamp of George Usslaub (Lugt 1221) on the verso.
