Bust-length seated portrait of Uz, turned to the right but looking forward. Johann Peter Uz (Ansbach 1720-1796) was a German rococo poet.
Engraving on wove paper, sheet size 248 x 156 mm., platemark 160 x 118 mm. Engraved by Johann Georg Nordheim, and published in Meyers Konversationslexicon, c. 1850
Johann Georg Nordheim (Gehaus 1804 – 1854 Hildburghausen) was a German (reproductive) steel engraver, who specialised in portraits.
In very good condition, minimal discolouration in the margins. Two brown spots in the caption below the image.
