Captioned: ‘Kinderen, kom nu maar met hoopen, Hier kunt gy Fraaije Vogels koopen’ (Children, come now in droves, Here you can buy Beautiful Birds). Among the 24 species, included are the Griffon, as well as a species of moth. The print bears the number 3.
Hand tinted woodcut on laid paper. Sheet size c. 390 x 325 mm. Published by Wendel and for sale with Schalekamp en Van de Grampel (Amsterdam), c. 1825.
In poor condition, original middle fold with binding holes, numerous creases, a dampstain in the center, tape repairs in the top and bottom margins, and additional tape repairs on the verso.
