Fantasy design of a seven-headed dragon and a crown.
Woodcut on Japanese paper, sheet size 347 x 295 mm., image c. 65 x 125 mm. Made by Carel Adolp Lion Cachet and published in the Houtsnedenummer (Woodcut issue) of the famous periodical Wendingen in 1919 (year 2, nr. 7/8). It was printed by De Volharding and published by De Hooge Brug.
Carel Adolph Lion Cachet (Amsterdam 1864 – 1945 Vreeland) was a Dutch ceramist, furniture designer, graphic artist, typographer and glass painter (among other things). He was a student of famous architect Pierre Cuypers and painter Isaac Israels.
In very good condition, the left edge folded over.
