Bruxelles, 1833, (later) folder with loose lithograph plates: engraved titlepage with erotic vignette, with 11 pornographic plates (handwritten non consecutive numbers in pencil on plates) some rubbing and minor folding to the edges of the plates, no watermark on the paper, 26x35cm including margins, 15×19,5cm plates themselves, illustrations for Gamiani ou deux nuits d'exces, in English Gamiani, or Two Nights of Excess which is a French erotic novel first published in 1833. Its authorship is anonymous, but it is believed to have been written by Alfred de Musset, with the lesbian eponymous heroine being a portrait of his lover, George Sand. It became a bestseller among nineteenth century erotic literature.The novel was illustrated with unsigned lithographs whose authorship remains unknown. They have been attributed to Achille Devéria and Octave Tassaert or Achille Devéria and P.L.H. Grevedon, among others. Kinsey: 843.7 M98 g2 1833. Eros invaincu: 688.
