Bust-length portrait of a bearded man wearing a fur hat and mantle. This was possibly a surgeon, living around 1650. A pendant of this portrait exists, depicting Engeltje Pietersdr. Kort-Leve.
Etching on hand laid paper, sheet size 207 x 156 mm.
Made by Cornelis III Visscher, c. 1650. Cornelis III Visscher (Haarlem 1628 – 1658 Amsterdam) was a Dutch printmaker, painter and draughtsperson. He was the brother of Johannes and Lambert Visscher.
