Bust-length portrait in an oval with Latin inscription and Latin caption held by two putti. In the background a flying putto with Peter's keys and the papal tiara.
Engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 326 x 254 mm., platemark 311 x 242 mm., made ca. 1638-1658.
Engraved by Cornelis III Visscher, and published by Clement de Jonghe. Cornelis III Visscher (Haarlem 1628 – 1658 Amsterdam) was a Dutch printmaker, painter and draughtsperson. He was the brother of Johannes and Lambert Visscher. Clement de Jonghe (Brunsbüttel 1624/5 – 1677 Amsterdam) was a German-born Dutch publisher and art dealer.
In excellent condition, a small crease in the top left corner.
