Etching on laid paper, sheet size 200 x 150 mm., platemark 198 x 148 mm. Made by Jan Groensveld after Nicolaes Berchem, as no. 3 from a series of 6.
Jan Groensveld (also Johannes; The Hague c. 1660-1728 Amsterdam) was a Dutch printmaker, painter and publisher. Although he was mainly known as etcher, the inventory after his death showed he also produced a number of fruit still lifes. Nicolaes Berchem (Haarlem 1621-1683 Amsterdam) was a famous Dutch painter of landscapes, often featuring typically Dutch livestock and cattle.
In excellent condition, cropped close to the platemark. A small crease in the lower margin.
