Landscape with a central river with two fishermen, a villa in the background. On the right side of the image, near the forest's edge, is a memorial monument with a man pointing at the inscription and explaining it to the lady with a parasol at his side. Two children with a dog are close by.
Etching on hand laid paper, sheet size 346 x 235 mm., platemark 327 x 208 mm., engraved by Albert Meyering (or Meyeringh) after his own design, c. 1690. Albert Meyering (1645-1714) specialised in classical landscapes.
In very good condition, minimal soiling in the margins. Left edge cropped within the platemark, and later extended with a strip of contemporary paper. With the collection mark of Pim van Eekelen (Lugt 5101) stamped on the verso.
