Albert I of Habsburg (German: Albrecht I) (1255-1308) was a Duke of Austria and Styria from 1282 and King of Germany from 1298 until his assassination. He was the eldest son of King Rudolf I of Germany and Gertrude of Hohenberg. He is sometimes referred to as 'Albert the One-eyed' because of a war injury that cost him an eye.
Etching and engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 380 x 468 mm., platemark 361 x 446 mm., engraved by Pieter van Sompel (c. 1600-c. 1644) after Pieter Soutman (c. 1580-1657), and published by Soutman, dated 1644.
In good condition, some horizontal creasing in the image area, a stained tear in the lower right margin and edge of the caption.
