A tumultuous battle scene with a chariot in the foreground, on which a general whose chest is pierced by an arrow.
Etching on hand laid paper, sheet size 203 x 253 mm., etching by an anonymous artist, c. 1650-1700, whose style suggests the work of Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708).
In good condition, cropped within platemark. A few tiny stains in the top right corner, a pinhole in the lower right corner. The collector's mark of Pim van Eekelen (Lugt 5101) stamped verso.
