Oval bust portrait of Jacques Auguste de Thou (1553-1617), a French historian, book collector and president of the Parliament of Paris.
Etching and stipplework on hand laid paper, sheet size 243 x 309 mm., made by Jean Morin (c. 1595/1605-1650) in c. 1640-1650.
In fair condition, cropped within platemark, paper loss in the lower margin and lower left corner of the image area. Several creases in the image area, a dampstain in the lower right quarter.
