Portrait of Joachim Murat (1767-1815), a French military commander and statesman who served during the French Revolutionary Wars and Napoleonic Wars. Under the French Empire he received the military titles of Marshal of the Empire and Admiral of France. He was the first Prince Murat, Grand Duke of Berg from 1806 to 1808 and King of Naples as Joachim-Napoleon from 1808 to 1815. (Source: Wikipedia).
Stipple and line engraving on wove paper, sheet size 281 x 428 mm., platemark 181 x 261 mm., engraved by Charles Landelle (1821-1908) after Bernard-Édouard Swebach (1800-1870), and published by Joubert in Paris, ca. 1840.
In good condition, the margins quite foxed, but the image area quite clear.
