Oval portrait of French engraver François Chauveau (1613-1676).
Etching and engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 244 x 356 mm., platemark 188 x 262 mm., engraved by Gerard Edelinck (1649-1707) after Claude Lefèbvre (1632-1675). This print was published in Perrault's 'Les Hommes illustres' (Paris, 1696-1700), volume II.
In good condition, some light foxing in the margins, a crease in the right margin, and a dampstain in the top left corner (only very slightly covering the image area).
