Etching and engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 356 x 437 mm. Made by Pieter van Sompel (ca. 1600-ca. 1643) after Pieter Claesz. Soutman (ca. 1580-1657), with the ornamental border made by Soutman. Published by Soutman Soutman in 1644 in the series 'Effigies imperatorvm domvs Avstriacæ, dvcvm Bvrgvndiæ, regvm principumqve Europæ' (Haarlem: Pieter Claesz. Soutman, 1644-1650).
Mounted by the four corners on a sheet of contemporary paper. Paper loss in the top left edge of the sheet. A heavy crease over the middle of the image, and creasing in the top and lower left corners.
