‘Henrieta Maria Queen of Great Britain’. Full length portrait of Henrietta Maria (1609-1669), queen of England, Scotland and Ireland through her marriage to King Charles I.
Line and stipple engraving on laid paper, by Pieter van Gunst (ca. 1659-1732) after Anthony van Dyck (1599-1641), published by Pieter van Gunst, sheet size: 555 x 358 mm., platemark: 513 x 322 mm. In very good condition, remains of a label in the lower right margin corner, mild foxing in the left margin, a crease over the middle of the sheet.
A beautiful and serene portrait after the original painting by Van Dyck, dated 1638, from a series of ten plates by Gunst after van Dyck, made 1713-1715. This is the pendant of the portrait of her husband nr 69846.
