Engraving on wove paper, a copy in reverse from ca. 1800, after plate 79 from Jan van der Straet's 'Venationes' (originally published by Philips Galle in 1578). It shows men hunting for small birds with different methods, and bears the caption: 'Planior aequato cum facta est area tergo, retibus expansis mitis fraudatur acanthis'. The series shows traditional hunting methods for local animals (birds, otters, boar, etc.) but also exotic species such as elephants. 108 x 146 mm., cropped within platemark, mild soiling in the corners.
