Beschrijving
Johannes Pieter de Frey (1770-1834) after the 1645 portrait by Rembrandt in the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon. The painting was formerly attributed to Philips Koninck, hence the presence of his name in the lower margin. Etching on laid paper, platemark 209 x 151 mm., sheet size 261 x 375 mm. Beautiful impression with ample margins. A small tear in the lower margin (well outside image area), margins very mildly soiled.
