Beschrijving
Manuscript, Latin, 32×22 cm, 323 pp., full parchment binding with later leather closure strips, modern endpapers added, some resauration visible on the spine. The bookblock is solid and the handwriting clear. Considerable waterdamage in the back of the book. Probably written around 1630.
The manuscript consists of a collection of civil and criminal legal advice. Advisors mentioned are: W. de Cocq, A. Berendrecht, E. Zimmer, Corn. du Quesnoy, H. Sonnius, J. Vermeer, C. van Cuyck, J. Herweyers, S. van Veen, J. de Haerlem, C. Alpen, F. Hey, Adr. Snoeck, G. Hamel, J. Banckem, J. Treslong, M. de Pottere, A. Goes, P. Peckius, Elb. Longoe, W. Cats, C. Bosch and M. Poets. Often located in The Hague. With an alphabetical index between page 144 and 145 (unnumbered).
There seems to be a connection with a printed version of such legal advice, though the content is not identical. Compare: ‘Consulatien, advysen en advertissementen, gegeven en geschreven by verscheide treffelyke rechts-geleerden in Holland en elders. Afgescheyden in VI. Deelen (…)’ Amsterdam/Utrecht, Jan Boom/Jacob van Poolsum, 1728.
From the collection of Jelle Kaspersma and Alie Vinke (2010).
