Antwerpen, By de Weduwe I. Cnobbaerts, 1640, 8vo., full parchment spitsel binding with red coloured edges (somewhat faded), 339+[2] pp., smudged parchment, the closure ribbons did not survive, but you can see where they would have been, the bookblock is failry solid with some (water)stains. The text is printed in a gothic, roman and cursive font. There is a beautifully engraved titlepage with some references to the bible: ‘Psal. 18.v.6. In de sonne heeft hy sijn tabernakel ghestelt’, Matth. 5.v.14. Eene stadt op eenen bergh can niet verborgen worden’ and ‘1. Timoth. 1.v.19. Circa fidem naufragaverunt’. With some lovely decorative initials.
The book has been part of several library collections: ‘Bibliotheca Missionis F.F. Min: Woerda 1719’, ‘Bibliotheca Conventus Woerdensis’ and ‘Algemene Provincie Kataloog Minderbroedersklooster Alverna Gld’.
