Amsterdam (Amsteldam), Pieter Meyer, 1748, 4to., half leather binding with marbled paper, ribbed spine with gold tooling and title plate, sprinkled edges, (12)+381+(3) pp., the binding has worn edges, on the back cover the marbled paper has been torn away in one corner, the printwork is in good condition with a neat and spacious lay-out, lovely soft paper. Beautifully engraved allegorical frontispiece (S. Fokke delin et sculpsit 1748, P. Meyer excudit). With dedication to Willem Karel Henrik Friso (Prince of Orange, 1711-1751) with a pasted in engraved potrait of the prince (G. Sibelius fecit) that originally didn't seem to be part of this book. Ex libris: Eli Bomli (1897-1970, pioneer in radio). The book ends with a list of all the poets who contributed to this voluminous book. There are writings in the margins of this list in two hands, commenting on the quality of the work by each poet. There are contributions by 38 poets, for instance: Aletta Maria Schook, Anna Maria de Jong, Jan Olthof en Jacob Hulk.
