Brussels (Bruxelles), J. van den Berghen, 1760, 8vo., original unopened publisher's edition with paper cover, never rebound, 226 pp. This journal of commerce is dedicated to Prince Charles Alexander of Lorraine (1712-1780). He was an Austrian general and soldier, field marshal of the Imperial Army, and governor of the Austrian Netherlands. The remarkable thing about this copy, is that you can see how a book was delivered by the publisher: Pages unopend and uncut, signatures lightly sewn together, ready for the buyer to take to the binder to be bound according to his own wishes to complement his library.
