Mr. Jan de Timmerman was a Doctor of Law. He then became pensionary of the city of Middelburg (Zeeland). In 1774 he presented himself as poet by publishing this collection of poems. This copy contains some handwritten notes: On the front cover (upside down) is written ‘compleete werken’, on the inside of the front cover it says ‘Presentexemplaar’.
