Printdrawing on laid paper (printdrawing is a graphic technique that resembles drawing, and uses combinations of etching, roulette, stipple engraving, and aquatint to accomplish this), sheet size 166 x 179 mm., made by Bernard Schreuder (c. 1745-1780) after Cornelis Bega (1631/32-1664), and published by Cornelis Ploos van Amstel (1726-1798) in 1772. Ploos van Amstel was an avid collector of Dutch drawings, and is credited with inventing the technique of printdrawing. Schreuder worked in the printing house of Ploos van Amstel.
In good condition, cropped to the image edge (as always, but lacking the original support). All four corners with small tears or minimal paper loss (from removing support). The collection mark of Cornelis Ploos van Amstel (Lugt 2725) stamped on the verso.
