Full leather binding, decoratove gold stamps on spine (worn), title plate on spine (worn), front and back cover have been professionally reattached by a book restorer, 14 + 370 + 56 + 8 pp., engraved frontispiece, decorative initials, illustrated with many heraldic woodcuts in the text and some full page engravings showing full figure portraits of historical figures, some water stains but otherwise in good condition. Third edition of De Rouck's ‘Nederlandtschen Herauld’. The first edition was published in , the second edition in 1671. It is the oldest and only Dutch work on heraldry until the mid nineteenth century. De Rouck developed a hatching system to convey heraldic colors in print. A table of this hatching system is found on page 55 of the second part.
