Bust portrait of Jan van de Velde I, father of the artist, at the age of 53. He was writing master. Oval frame lettered:’T’LEEFT AL VANDEN VELDE. AETATIS SUAE LIII. ANNO 1621′; signed on the bottom right, but only partially visible: ‘V. fe’.
